Business Development Executive – Office Based

Key Purpose

The Business Development Executive will be responsible for generating new opportunities within their assigned territory. The territory for this role will be assigned from the current focus markets and geographies.

As part of the role they will collaborate with marketing to create campaigns, follow-up and qualify opportunities. They will also collaborate with the field sales teams in direct and partner sales to close larger deals. The role will include targets for opportunity generation and closure.

Key Responsibilities

As a Business Development Executive, you will:

  • Proactively generate meetings and new sales opportunities through aggressive prospecting, networking and marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to create campaigns, qualify leads, measure effectiveness, and provide feedback.
  • Collaborate regularly with the field sales to develop a strategy for each opportunity and account.
  • Employ appropriate account mapping and mining techniques to research and build a contact base in new and existing accounts
  • Utilise creativity and initiative in establishing rapport with the customer and obtaining pertinent information from customers via the telephone, online and offline networking, and social media to establish each contact’s needs and role in a Cortex proposition.
  • Utilise and diligently maintain accurate records and forecasts in CRM, Sales Order Processing, and Finance systems.
  • Build and map roles to networks of contacts within target organisations to support complex selling methods
  • Provide excellent customer service (handle all incoming information requests and sales calls promptly).
  • Preate and prioritise a strategic target account list in collaboration with sales management
  • Coordinate with pre-sales engineers to provide pre-sales support.
  • Meet or exceed new opportunity generation targets
  • Present to C-level executives the value of our solutions.
  • Prepare activity reports as required and attend pipeline and team meetings.
  • Travel to various industry events as appropriate

  • Strong computer skills – CRM system, Word, Excel, CRM
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Enterprise Sales Executive – Remote and mobile

Location: Global

Key Purpose

The Direct Sales Executive will be responsible for driving new business development, coordinating sales engagement, and working alongside ecosystem partners with all accounts in their territory.

The territory for this role will be periodically aligned with strategic focus – currently Telecommunications, IT and Insurance and expanding rapidly.

  • They will collaborate with marketing to create campaigns, follow-up and qualify opportunities.
  • They will drive accounts sales directly to closure
  • They will collaborate with certified and industry partners to drive revenue.
  • They will carry targets for revenue.

Cortex is seeking a senior sales executive with experience in value-based selling for complex enterprise software or solutions. You will be a highly articulate and literate person with the gravitas to command attention and respect at many levels in large prospect organisations; able to operate as easily at board level as with the technical sponsors, this individual will thrive on external competition and excel in challenging high-value environments. The engagement model is to engage directly with prospects and partners through a collaboration that builds mutual trust and provides annual recurring revenue growth sales execution for Cortex and Cortex Solutions into net new business customers.

The ideal candidate will be a result-driven, success-oriented individual with extensive experience in large deal generation and closing. They will have a ready portfolio of senior contacts in large IT organisations and selected partners. They will be a self-starter, with a can-do attitude and be able to operate within a growing organisation.

The ideal candidate will have a recent background in big-ticket complex enterprise software sales working with both the lines of business and IT. They will have a deep understanding of the business models and operational drivers for SI’s, Service Providers and delivery partner organisations.

Key Responsibilities
