I finished education at Barton Peverill College studying Computing, Chemisty, Maths, Physics and Biology.
I was not interested going to university as I wanted to get into work as soon as possible. This led to me applying for an apprenticeship with Cortex. I chose Cortex because they were a small company that offered the opportunities that I was looking for.
Since starting in September 2014 I have been on several projects for both customers and internal projects. This has involved large networking changes to our internal networks, building new Cortex platforms for customers and maintaining existing solutions.
I have grown to be a more mature and independent worker since joining Cortex. I have finished and progressed from an apprentice and I now mentor new apprentices. This has further developed my professional and technical skills.
Due to the size of the business and the staff that are already working at Cortex, it is a lovely environment to work in. Therefore I would recommend working for Cortex based on this as you will always feel a part of the team and valued by everyone.
