Andy Neumann, managing director at SharePoint specialists OBS, says many businesses are still unsure which parts of their organisation could benefit from automation and has revealed five processes which can be easily automated.

Human resources (HR) often takes up a lot of resources within a business, as it has to deal with such a wide variety of complex tasks. However, every part of an employee’s time at the company can be automated, from role and vacancy management to performance management.
Anna Johansson, a writer for imediaconnection.com, says that although many businesses are reluctant to do it, automating payroll tasks can save a lot of time. In fact, an average payroll manager could save almost eight hours every month by automating these tasks, she notes.
Mr Neumann also remarks that customer relationship management (CRM) systems can help keep relationships between businesses and clients personal by managing the huge amount of data required to personalise marketing campaigns. He adds that document and records management can be automated too, as can invoices, claims and bookings. By automating these tasks, businesses reduce the risk of duplication and data loss.
“Improving performance, compliance and productivity are key goals for any business,” he explains. “By automating these five processes, most businesses can achieve significant savings and operational efficiencies.”
