We are excited to be participating in this TM Forum Catalyst project with our partners Tech Mahindra and the OpenNMS Group, and our customers Vodafone and BT who are championing this initiative.

The TM Forum has, over the years, produced great collateral, and many previous Catalyst projects have demonstrated working examples of that collateral in action. However, we are trying to take a different view on that, by exploring how CSPs can rapidly and easily adopt the Network as a Service Component Suite without implementing wholesale changes to their existing, fully working IT infrastructure.

Cortex Intelligent Automation can be deployed by CSPs as both a NaaS API Gateway and as a NaaS Service Orchestrator, integrating with legacy applications through existing non-NaaS APIs. Inbound NaaS API messages received by Cortex are converted into the necessary – possibly multiple – API calls towards internal applications, which result in existing known and proven BAU functionality being executed. Similarly, Cortex can monitor the status of that existing BAU functionality and at appropriate times can initiate outbound NaaS API calls to the CSP customers and partners.

By providing a NaaS API wrapper around existing legacy applications and processes, Cortex Intelligent Automation enables CSPs both to rapidly uplift their compliance to the latest industry best practices and standards, and also to isolate their public interfaces from their internal systems and processes. This allows both to evolve somewhat independently of each other.

Working together to solve this industry challenge, the initial results are being showcased at the TM Forum’s Digital Catalyst Showcase running throughout July 2020.  This transformational collaboration session is on:

Thursday 30th of July 2020, 2:00 pm – 2:30 pm
